I've always been inspired by kozyndan...they have so many detailed illustrations. They also seem like really sweet people, too. They respond to their fans alot.... Dan even commented on a photo of me in one of their shirts on myspace, before :D

My parents love those ghost shows...my dad got out the video camera last night and was going to use a tripod to record all night in night vision to be goofy and maybe just MAYBE capture some ghosts on film. Sometimes chilling in my room at home isn't so bad...as long as I'm not really looking around it and just thinking of how comfy my bed is. Ok, so I got bored and started playing in Illustrator and came up with a random logo. Well, for some reason I came up with "boink!" cause I'm random like that. I thought of a logo idea with a box and something outside the box (to make it say something about thinking outside of the box), but instead, I thought of making it sort of like my personal branding of "boink! designs around the clock." Now I don't know if it even works or makes sense to the average bear, that's why I need your help.

Can you guys tell me if anything about the logo bothers you...is it too much? Are the colors ok? Should I change the name to something else? I have only spent a couple of hours on it, and I know real logos take months to get down to the final piece, but I was also wondering if you guys think it could work as a personal logo? Ok, so I realize some of you aren't graphically inclined, and that's ok because I need those Yogi bear eyes to see if it looks professional.

So critique, plz.

Oh by the way, I looked up "boink logo" to see if there was already a company called that, and it ended up being an erotic magazine...which makes sense.

...I can't find a torrent for "There's No 666 in Outer Space," an album by Hella I didn't know existed but discovered while accidently finding it through YouTube.

Also, my brother is yelling at me while his fiance (who is also the biggest sweetheart ever and I already love her) is hearing this side of him for the first time. I started saying how he yells at me all the time and he told me to cut it out...I'm going to ruin this family before it even starts.

Meanwhile, between the bickering of nonsense that is going on, sweet Anni P. is cooking us tacos. It is going to be the shit because she is an actual chef and loves to cook...my brother is on the right track. I am super stoked on tasting a bit of this paradise...

So far on this trip, I am happy as a clam because I'm so excited about having a sister-in-law. I also purchased a Shinzi Katoh bag at a store I forgot was here (Giant Robot) cause his style is so cute.

Highlights of this trip thus far:
• Meeting Anni then immediately spraying my brother with silly string at the door afterwards
• ONE HOUR KICK-ASS PEDICURE/MASSAGE/TICKLE TORTURE
• Beach photo fun
• KICK ASS WEATHER
• Discovering that design week is this week in San Francisco
• Seeing about 20 totally naked men and women on bikes for pride weekend (er, don't know about highlight...they were all old and not attractive)

I played with illustrator a few weeks ago and I took the idea of this...

I still have a couple weeks until I can go back to starting all over with running. I went to the running store today and bought Runner's World and some energy chews and some stupid insoles I have to get because I have flat feet. I got some pamphlets on some races coming up...I'm real excited about running again. I'm so glad I got into something that makes me feel good and excited, and I have Mackenzie to thank for that. She's the dro-est runner I know.

I went to the gym tonight to start to get back into gear. Now I'm all energized and ready to go.

So a little update of what has been going on with me lately. As some of you may know, I injured my leg while trying to reach my running goals. I don't know what happened..I think the whole running too much too fast finally got up with me. I tried to make an appointment this week in order to get it all checked out before the big 10 miler on Saturday. Welll...since I waited a little too long, I have to get a scan taken tomorrow, then get the results and have it analyzed on Monday. Since I have no idea if my leg is in ok condition to run, I am not running on Saturday. My dad suggested that I walk...but I figure if I'm out there with hundreds of other energized runners, chances are I'm going to want to run with them. I'd rather not tease myself and just stay out of the whole situation. Especially 10 miles...you know how long that would take to walk? Bageez.

Sooo...tomorrow is that bone scan at 12:30 until 3:00. Yeah, I don't know what kind of tests they're doing on me, but that seems so long. The nurse said I'm going to have an injection then do the scan and that's all I know. I'll probably bring the design studies book that Tim gave me for my birthday. I won't know what's up until Monday, but it's probably a bad case of LEG CANCER. Thank god I got an appointment early, 'naw mean?

Aside from my soon to be peg leg (sike), Tim and I are going on vacation from May 22nd-May 30th. We're going to go to Virginia to hang out with his family. We've been talking about visiting them again forever now, but now we're finally doing it. I'm excitteddd to get away and just sit back and kickkk ittt yeaahhh boiii.

Oh and I joined Urban Active so I can still work out since I can't run. I talked down the price from $50 to $35 a month($5 extra to have access to any location), which in reality probably happens a lot. The gym has a pool, basketball court, racquet ball room, womens only section, all kinds of classes I can sign up for, dozens of different machines, smoothie bar, tanning bed and MEAT HEADS. Oh and I get a trainer to help me on Sunday afternoon...it's gonna be tyte for sure.

Here is a sneak peek of an illustration that I've slowly been working on along with a bunch of other things I've started and will take forever to finish. I want this to look sort of like the illustrations done by one of my favorite illustrators, Jillian Tamaki. Her boyfriend/husband/whateverlover has some pretty cool pieces too. I still need to work on the shadows and such....I'm not going to tell you guys what Tim is doing in the illustration cause that is later time when you will find out as it progresses.

I haven't worked on this piece in awhile, and I think it's about time to start playing with it some more. It didn't really take too long to get to where I got so far...just as long as I get into that groove thang, ya dig?

I tried running last night and was doing ok until about half way through the third lap I started coughing and didn't stop the entire night. I kept wheezing and my nose was all stuffy and slept really crappy. It was like I got sick like that(snap). I don't know what it is, cause today I'm not nearly as bad, but my nose is still stuffy. Spent a majority of valentine's day at Tim's trying to rest, then went out to Twig and Leaf with him, Pat and Jason. Now I have some weird lower abdomen pains. Worst immunity ever, but these kettle chips were awesome.

I've been watching a lot of UofL basketball lately...I'm getting into it. Tim and I are. We're basically one person.

This weekend I bought some stuff to put together a leather belt. I already bought one with the designs stamped on it for now, then hopefully later on I can buy some tools and make my own designs...it really interests me, especially the girly western floral patterns. All I've gotta do with what I bought is dye the leather, measure it around my waist, punch holes and cut off the extra length. I'm only interested in belt leather crafting...the other uses seems tacky to me, like the cell phone cases. I wonder if this is a potential hobby... (crosses fingers)

I had another of Daniel Johnston from the folk art festival thing, but for some reason, I had a difficult time adjusting the curves on it. I obviously need to brush up on some photoshop skills.

I was really patient developing this film tonight, which is real weird. I also got snap happy with my camera at my grandma's birthday party this weekend (about 10 photos or so that finished this roll) which is real weird too. None of those photos actually turned out too well, though. I'm just happy that I'm start to get back into taking photos. I have some others that I need to process, but it's getting late, and I'm a working woman.

I found this photo a week or so ago in my brother's friend's photo album.

This was when Tim and I went to Nashville with my brother and his friends for a day, and I remember it being in the single digits and we had to walk a decent amount...it was an aight time.

I'm starting to think about planning my next vacation with Tim again. We just don't really know where to go/how much money to save up...I kind of want to go somewhere different, then again I kind of want to go back to San Francisco or go to Virginia to see his dad and the twins then rent a car and drive to Virginia beach and get my tan and relaxation time on while Tim is bored to death. CHOICES.

Other news...totally not feeling Christmas this year. I just don't care anymore...it is way too stressful and too much guilt tripping is going on. The only thing I like is that I get a lot of time off from work and get paid for it.

I'm going to slowly post some photos from this roll of film I had used on Pat's Yashica. I agree with Tim...I like the sharpness of the lens. However, some of the photos didn't turn out as good as I wanted because I accidently had the camera set at 400 instead of 200 (womp womppp...). Oh well. Also, I forgot about the focusing sometimes with this camera because it is different than my Nikon, so half of the photos from this roll are awful. I'll post two at a time until I feel like that's enough.

I started actually painting on my board tonight, too. I think I've forgotten how to paint. The more I do it, though, the better I can get.

Trying to be more positive since today was real shitty.

So I've been adjusting to a new lifestyle for about a week now, and I must say...it's really getting to me. I don't know if I'm happy or not, or if this is normal, or what. I keep finding out more businesses are going bankrupt(heard on the news that St. Matthews Mall and Oxmoor might be, Circuit City, and Best Buy are on its way out)----happy holidays!

Today we had nothing at all to do at work for a couple of hours, which is real strange seeing as during the slow times work still trickles in. My boss sent out the usual email asking if anyone wanted to go home and I couldn't bare sitting there extremely antsy, so I left. The damn change in weather is getting to me, and this pitch dark nonsense at 6 is horrible. I haven't really been doing much in the past few days, and my mom told me yesterday that I look wasted...which now I look back on and think it's funny.

I'm just going to say it. I don't know if anyone really has a say in other people's relationships, the more I think about it. They haven't seen every moment shared and they do not know the people in the same manner as the couple do. I keep getting different advice and I just need to go with what I need and what makes me happy...and that is a HUGE step I need to accomplish. Sure, maybe right now I think I'll never be happy again, but will it get better? How do I know if I did the right thing? I guess time will tell. I can't get my mind off of the situation and not knowing if I'm going to have a job in the next few months, and it's driving me insane. I haven't felt this awful in awhile... well, since summer. I've been so worn out and sleepy which makes life even worse/me extremely irritable.

I'm actually happier at work right now...yeah I said it, happier at work. It's my tedious life away from personal life. I know what to do there, and that I am judged as being a decent graphic artist. Both make me happy.

While living with my parents, I don't like watching TV or movies. That is so stupid because my dad is the electronic king and has like a jillion channels and HD. I guess I just like to hibernate away from my parents while here.

Soccer Houligan

So I played soccer today and we played the worst team ever...I mean, I even scored a goal, that's how bad they were. I think the score ended up being 7 to 0. We only had 4 players, and I think they had 6 or something...I hurt myself (see photo) by sliding into the freezing dry ground and bled a little bit, and got a little baby cut on the palm of my hand. I also got this funky pentagon imprint of the soccer ball on my inner thigh which I thought was hilarious...it's almost 3 hours after I've played, and it's still there. It's aight, though...I'm just glad I finally scored a goal. Next week is our last game, but I might try and join an indoor team now because I think one of my teammates said they needed players.

I've started applying places, finally. I even applied as a web developer not really realizing that I don't have anything to back up that I have very little experience. The guy already replied and said that it looked like I was leaning more towards to the design field, and asked how much I knew about HTML/CSS/Javascript. Now I'm sitting there thinking "Wait, why did I apply for this position? I can't pull this off..." I guess I saw "beginner" in there and it got me. Plus the guy is on twitter, so I was like man he seems real chill. Anyway, I'm glad I'm actually making an effort to move on with my career...

Everytime I walk into my room now, I smell my brother's funky smell of when he used to live here. It's gross, and I want to figure out how to get rid of it. It's probably been there the whole time, and I'm just now realizing it.

I had my 3rd dream of going back to High School
Can't stand my parents trying to be all up in my business...makes me want to move out
Freaking out about deck because I kind of forgot about it for a few days
I want to throw things at everyone at work and disconnect my phone because I'm just being bitchy towards everyone anyway

I'm not noticing my music blanket changing the album covers as I listen to different music.

Halloween was aight, everyone thought my costume was creepy, but not in a spooky bloody way...like a what-the-fuck-white-wig way. I have also become the queen of awkwardness.

I want to go visit my brother again and not be such a pansy when I roam the streets...Haight St. was where I ventured off by myself, and it was flooded with bums (as is every big city). I wasn't really used to walking around by myself anyway, and felt like a little baby baby...but maybe I have grown up and it will be funner to roam around with my camera these days. Although I haven't been working hard, I still just want to go somewhere because it is depressing hoping to get at least 30 hours every week when scheduled for 40...plus I need a lot of alone time to do some of that thinking.

Well...guess what? No new photos or art, because I am the laziest person in the world. This is my new quote "Anything I start I cannot finish, and I mean anything." I'm really impatient with ideas...I really need to smack myself out of that or I'll never be able to call myself a graphic artist because I won't have any proof that I am one.
